Like Me, Love Me: Flirt With Life

Facebook is where we all live now. Social media is the present and the future. We are broadcasting 24/7 the reality show of ourselves–projecting the "we"–we see or would like to be. Facebook is the celebration of that public image. If Andy Warhol was still around he would have a huge presence online. Andy might like the effect new social media platforms are having on the world today. Facebook and Instagram now give everyone with a smartphone access to liberating their inner artist, of giving us all a voice, a say, an image.

We now use social media to put together a story, create a character or narrative, to evoke fantasy or escape, everyone can now package themselves as they see fit. We can all be whomever we'd like to be, build ourselves into a brand and stake some claim on personal fame. And maybe more importantly, we are connected in a way we never have been before–tuning in to feeds from across the world, entering a dialogue with people whom we'd never have access to before, joining cliques and building communities.

To celebrate this new reality comes a new campaign. This play of high and low, the far and near with equal access to pop culture and the personal is deep in Facebook's DNA. We are all very lucky to have access to the social network. The true leaders of our time are those who create the images and words that speak to all of us.
