Power to the 'Yes': Henley Royal Regatta
Lovely 'blood in the water' drone coverage of Day 1 heats at the Henley Royal Regatta. I love this sport. I think rowing with my son in a boat is going to be a spiritual experience as it was rowing with my wife when we met some time ago. Early at 5 am, you can still see me pull 7000+meters on the Concept II ergometer prior to my 7 mile uphill run daily ritual done six days a week. Adding more weight training to the front these days along with more stretching. New research indicates stretching can add over 10 years to a person's lifespan. Great to watch these races. Ha....

Art Is Magical: Creativity At Cantor Art Museum Stanford University
Looking at art makes us a happier human being. Yes, art is magical. Studies show that looking at art stimulates, among other things, the motor cortex, the part of your brain that controls your body's movements. When you look at art you don't just see it with your eyes or feel it with your brain, you also feel it with your whole body. Quite literally. Every fiber of your being – your senses, your intellect, your emotions, every part of your physical corpus – responds to works of art. But that's not all. Art wakes you up to three profoundly important realities.
One, the reality of the world.
Andy Warhol once said, "You need to let the little things that would ordinarily bore you suddenly thrill you." The world around us is spectacular. And not just the big things, the oceans and the sunsets and the Eiffel Tower and whatnot. If you let yourself, you can see just as much wonder in the little stuff. Tuning into the magnificence of reality, both natural and human made, can increase your daily happiness quotient as seen here on our date at Cantor Art Museum in Palo Alto. My wife attended Stanford many moons ago and brought me here today for a truly everything-all-at-once feeling.

We are usually in Monterey for the Big Sur Half Marathon that takes place in November. We shall be returning to race in our respective hippity happily events for that run. However, it was fantastic to just play tourist in a town that is all charm.

Artistic Heaven Is SFMOMA
Being aware is more important than the evidence of awareness on a piece of paper. Being sensitive to what passes in front of you is more important than what passes into the camera. I always respect how artists instinctually understand how to create a close-knit culture. Design is used to sell things, explains things, make things look better, make people laugh, make people cry and every once in a while change the world. SFMOMA shows humans how to be an artist in the middle of nowhere. How to think with your hands. How to have an idea. How to transcend style. How to be fashionably timeless. And how to convince people. The museum showcases seven floors of so much useful art: sculptures, photography, paintings, interactive, video and experiential. Just go in and turn on the inspiration tap.
